EACH WEEK HAS SOMETHING UNIQUE!
Our overnight camp allows your camper to experience all that YMCA Camp Wakonda has to offer. From Check-in Sunday to Check-out on Friday, your camper will take part in Archery, swimming, boating, and so much more!
SESSION 1
Universe
Week
June 8th - June 13th
Planets, Stars and Aliens, oh my! Blast off into the universe with an out of this world week at camp! From star gazing to Jedi training, there is something for everyone during universe week!
SESSION 2
Night at the
Oscars
June 15th - June 20th
Ever wondered what it’s like to be a famous actor or actress? This week we will be living like the stars of Hollywood as we practice and perform skits and attend a fancy dinner party.
SESSION 3
Color Extravaganza
June 22nd - June 27th
In this popular Wakonda tradition we will be turning camp upside down! Everyone will be assigned a color and compete in a variety of fun challenges to see what team color takes the crown. Let the games begin!
SESSION 4
Fantasy
July 6th - July 11th
Dragons, Wizards, and Mermaids, Oh my! We’re not in camp anymore. Pack your wands, pixie dust, and messenger owls and explore fantasy realms at camp this summer!
SESSION 5
Retro
July 13th - July 18th
Get ready for a blast to the past! This week we will be time traveling through the decades with a variety of music and activities from the 60s, 70s 80s and more. Campers should bring outfits from their favorite decades!
SESSION 6
Super Hero
July 20th - July 25th
Look up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s our campers! This weeks theme features Super Hero classes and adventures as we learn what it takes to be heroic and become a little more super ourselves.
SESSION 7
Country Hoe-Down
July 27th - August 1st
Well grab your partner and doe-si-doe, it’s Country Hoedown week! Complete with traditional country music and an old fashioned Square Dance campers will all learn to boot scoot and boogie. Country attire encouraged!
SESSION 8
Last Splash
August 3rd - August 8th
Wrap up the summer with a splash at YMCA Camp Wakonda.
MINI CAMPS
Mini Camp is designed to meet the needs of our youngest campers, running three days and two-nights! This shortened camp will ease your child into spending time away from home and make their first camp experience a memorable one. Campers will be part of a smaller cabin group and take part in all our traditional camp activities. It’s the perfect camp for introducing your child to the great outdoors!
LEADERSHIP
IN TRAINING
Ages 14 to 17
In this week-long experience, campers will learn basic leadership skills and complete team-building challenges. This camp is designed for teens who are looking to start their journey to becoming a YMCA Camp Wakonda staff member.
COUNSELOR
IN TRAINING
Ages 16 to 17
In this two-week-long program, campers learn what it takes to be a Cabin Counselor at Camp Wakonda. The first week is all about learning necessary skills and the second week is putting those skills to the test. These new Leaders work to grow, engage and develop younger campers alongside our seasoned staff members. Designed for campers 16 years old and older.
STAYOVER WEEKEND
CAMP
Our stayover option allows campers to remain at camp over the weekend between their first and second week at camp. We are offering 3 stayover weekends this year. You should only register for a stayover weekend if you are registered for 2 CONSECUTIVE weeks of camp. Stayover weekend is included with a CIT registration. This weekend camp is for those campers that are registered for BOTH Super Hero week and for Country Hoedown week and want to stay on Camp Wakonda’s premises between the 2 weeks of camp! **Those signed up for CIT program are already signed up for their stayover weekend in their package**
Tier A – $725
This tier reflects the full cost for a week of summer camp at YMCA Camp Wakonda. Food, program supplies, facility occupancy, staffing, etc. all go into the cost of camp. We kindly ask that you pay this amount IF your family has the ability to do so.

Tier B – $625
This is a subsidized rate for families needing assistance
in sending their child to camp. Choose this rate if your
family needs it.

Tier C – $525
This is a larger subsidized rate for families needing assistance in sending their child to camp. Choose this rate if your family needs it.

Mini Camp – $250
Mini Camp is 3-day and 2-night experience. It is a fixed
cost as it is significantly reduced compared to the true
daily cost of camp (about $150 a day)
Counselor In Training – $1,025
Weekend Camp – $175
Spring and Fall weekend camps are a great way to
introduce your child to camp. Weekend camps run
from Friday evening to Sunday morning. Weekend
camps are a fixed cost with assistance available.
Leadership In Training – $725
Referral Program
We know that word of mouth is our best form of marketing, and we would like to reward our campers and families
that help spread the word about Camp Wakonda by participating in our referral program! All families registered
for the summer camp season can participate in our referral program. We suggest that you simply pay the deposit
and work to earn the rest of your camp balance. Once you’ve registered for the summer camp season, REPLY TO
THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL and ask the camp office for a code that you can share with your friends and family.
When a first-time camper registers using your referral code, you will receive $50 in camp credit, and the family
you referred will receive $100 off their registration per camper in addition to early bird discounts.

Each Camper can earn up to their remaining balance for their summer programs until two weeks before your
child’s week at camp. Once that time is reached or you have fully paid for the week of camp, any additional credits
can be used at the Trading Post or saved for a future camp week.
